Empty Spaces

Everybody’s been talking about the crisis. How it hit hard the architectural business. Statistics may prove it right. Huge they day. Suddenly falling in the middle of the field, when the dust haven’t yet flown away, for me the daily life small scale appears to be exemplifying. Our 5 story building in central Rotterdam used to be full of offices. Now two of the floors are empty. It may be so because the offices have been relocating, fleeing to cheaper locations or even they have gone out of business. I haven’t assisted the decline. I was yet to arrive. But they say it’s like this everywhere around the city. Friends complain, they complain. It’s not like in the 90’s anymore. Will it ever be the same? Or are we voted to precariousness as papers proclaim?
